Getting Started with the Mobile App

Written by Journalia

The Journalia app allows you to record consultations directly from your phone without needing to keep the screen "awake," letting you stay fully focused on your patient.

Setup and login

  1. Download: Get the Journalia app from the App Store.

  2. Log in: Use BankID to sign in.

    • Important: Your profile must be set up with BankID via the web version first. Do you only have Buypass? See [this guide] for how to add BankID.

  3. Preferences: Go to Settings (the gear icon in the top right corner) and select your Default Template and preferred language.

How to use the app during a consultation

  1. To start a consultation, press the button in the middle of the screen. Select "Allow" when the phone asks for microphone access.

  2. Transcription starts automatically. It may take a few seconds before the text appears on the screen.

  3. You can pause the recording during the session and resume it when you are ready by pressing the button in the middle of the screen.

  4. When you press Create note, the transcription will stop.

  5. Under History, you can review the transcription and adjust the note type.

  6. The journal note will be automatically transferred to the web and will be available under your profile for editing and transfer to your EHR (EPJ).

Practical tips

  • Locked Screen: The app will continue to transcribe even if you lock your screen or put your phone down.

  • Do not disturb: We recommend putting your phone in "Do Not Disturb" mode. If you receive a call during a session, you must decline the call and tap the note to resume recording.

  • Saved drafts: Paused notes remain on the home screen. From here, you can choose to continue, review, or delete them.
