Using Journalia for Video Consultations

Written by Journalia
Updated today

When conducting a video consultation on a PC or Mac, browser security restrictions may prevent Journalia from recording audio directly from another tab or application. To ensure that both participants are captured in the recording, you must use two separate devices.

The simplest solution is to use the Journalia app on your phone while hosting the video meeting on your computer.

  1. Start the video consultation on your PC or Mac and set the audio to speaker mode.

  2. Open the Journalia app on your phone (available for download in the App Store).

  3. Start the recording in the app and place your phone near the computer speaker.

  4. The recording will sync to your web profile in real-time.

Important Considerations

  • Two Devices: You must always use one device for the conversation itself and a separate device for the Journalia recording.

  • Flexibility: You can choose your setup. You may run the video on your mobile and Journalia on the web, or vice versa.

  • Audio Source: Most importantly, the device running Journalia must be able to physically hear the audio from the other device via the speaker.

This applies to both Windows and macOS.
